roast beef bento
Had this for lunch today. The roast beef was really soft and fatty (the way japanese people like it) Quite yummy. The rice was boring. Because I had this late in the day it was discounted from 700yen to only 580yen. Had this with two small cartons of orange juice (about 90yen each).

sushi lunch at work
This box of sushi was only 498yen. A lot of types, quite fresh. They chef used a lot of wasabi raddish sauce and thats usually a hint of low quality fish but i liked them. Soft not too thick. Rice was OK a bit too brittle. With lemon tea (doesnt match so well but its ok, about 140yen) Its thundering outside today, wild weather!

A kinda "chinese" style bento for lunch yesterday. the rice was brittle (in a bad way) but the meat was flavorful. i was in a hurry so the corn was a bit annoying to eat with chopsticks (one kernal at a time) and the boiled asian raddish (daikon, upper left) was surprizingly yummy, smokey fullbody taste. (530yen) Had this with two small lemon tea cartons (about 90yen each).

A really childish bento with a lotta flavors. Even two kinds of rice! (purple and white) The parts were all pretty good but the battered shrimp was too soggy. The desert (upper right shiny thing) was freaky jelly thing that had the texture of a soft slug with powdery guts, but tasted good. (whole bento was 498yen) I put my own tarter sauce on this (haha yeah, its sad but I keep my own tarter sauce at work!) and some nachan apple juice (120yen)

I had this eel and cutlet bento a few days ago in honor of the current eel scandal (incorrectly labeled eels). There wasnt a whole lotta eel in this to really count as a real eel bento, but the eel that was there was really soft and yummy. eel is good in summer. under the eel was brown rice, which is fairly uncommon in conbini bento. The cutlet side was fairly boring cutlet on white rice. Also they didnt use enough egg with the cutlet. Cost about 580yen. I had this with a seaweed infused meat-salad with seasame dressing. really good, crisp and flavorful. And a big half egg to make up for the missing egg on the cutlet.Cost about 280yen.
